Joana Varon Ferraz

Joana Varon Ferraz is a Brazilian researcher and digital rights advocate. She is the founding director of Coding Rights, where she develops research and advocacy strategies for digital rights issues involving privacy and freedom of expression. She has consulted for Consumers International on consumer privacy rights in Brazil and for Global Partners Digital on Internet Governance. Joana is a member of DeepLab, a women hackers collective, and the Advisory Council of Open Technology Fund. She is the co-creator of several creative projects that operate in the intersection of law, arts, and technologies, such as: antivigilancia.org, protestos.org and freenetfilm.org.
